Jacksonville – Kathy Goatley Brown, 71, of Jacksonville, North Carolina passed away on November 29, 2025, at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Kathy was born on September 30, 1954, in Eerie, PA to the late Lewis Goatley and Opal Knight Goatley. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sons, Ryan Brown and Aaron Brown, and grandson, Seth Lewis.
Kathy was a guardian ad litem for several years with a passion with helping children and families. She enjoyed genealogy and bringing together lost family members. Her laughter and spirit were contagious everywhere she went. She will truly be missed by many.
She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Brown; daughters, Meghan Lewis (Bradley) and Ashton Bradley (Emmerson); grandchildren, Lilly Lewis (Jaysen), Cooper Lewis, Ava Gaddy, Marleigh Gaddy, and Lennox Bradley; sisters, Barbara Bethman and Joy Weaver; and several extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
