The SanCap Chamber board of directors signed a six-month contract with the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce to provide management services during the search for the latter’s next CEO.

“I want to stress, this is a contract, not a merger,” said John Lai, SanCap Chamber president and CEO.

Lai emphasized that both chambers will remain separate entities while the SanCap Chamber focuses on serving its Sanibel-Captiva members.

The partnership aims to provide strong organizational oversight for the Greater Fort Myers Chamber, ensuring consistent operations and benefits for its members during the CEO transition.

Members of both chambers will experience enhanced advocacy, cross-promotion, and access to a wider network, among other benefits.

“We’re pleased to be entering into this management partnership with SanCap,” said Jen Whyte, board chair of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber.

The Greater Fort Myers Chamber represents nearly 700 professionals and businesses across Southwest Florida.

Lai noted that the partnership is a testament to the resilience and leadership of the SanCap Chamber.

Katy Forret, board chair of the SanCap Chamber, assured that their commitment to the Sanibel-Captiva community remains a priority.

The Greater Fort Myers Chamber will conduct a comprehensive search for its next CEO in the coming weeks.
