Vacancy on Feather Sound district board
Pinellas County is accepting applications for a one-year appointment to the Feather Sound Community Services District, Inc. board, as the individual appointment for Commissioner Chris Scherer. The term of office shall be for one year, beginning Jan. 1.
Applications are due by 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19.
Feather Sound Community Services District, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation organized for the purpose of providing street lighting as well as the acquisition, development and maintenance of recreational areas and green space for the residents of Feather Sound. The services are funded by property taxes assessed annually within the Feather Sound municipal services taxing district.
The board is comprised of seven volunteer members from the Feather Sound community. Applicants must reside within and be registered to vote in the Feather Sound municipal services taxing district.

Applications open for ambulance membership
Applications are now open for 2026 Sunstar FirstCare Ambulance Membership
Membership covers 100% of expenses associated with deductibles and co-payments, and 50% of medically necessary trips denied by insurance.
Enroll now for coverage from Jan. 1 – March 31, 2027.
The estimated average cost of a single ambulance transport is $1,037. Annual membership fees for the 2026 Sunstar FirstCare Ambulance Membership plan are $89 for a Single Membership and $133 for a Family Membership.

Membership is not an insurance plan. It is a Pinellas County government program that works with an individual’s insurance company to minimize out-of-pocket ambulance expenses.
