Lydia Lunch is well-known for many reasons — she’s the queen of no wave, the prophet of our slow apocalypse, an accomplished poet and author (up to and including a cookbook!), an incisive podcaster, a spot-on cultural critic and an inspiration to several generations of margin-walkers.

What we’d like to point out, though, is her unerring instincts in picking artists to join her on her spoken word tours: Exene Cervenka, Jerry Stahl, Joseph Keckler (all of whom gigged in Florida with her). And now, add JT Habersaat to the list. The Austin-based “godfather of punk comedy” makes for a natural tandem with Mz. Lunch; he has deep roots in the DIY underground, is an accomplished author and has opened for Henry Rollins.

So Habersaat will make you laugh and then Lydia will make you flinch repeatedly. We’re all in!

7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 8, Will’s Pub, 1042 N. Mills Ave., willspub.org, $15-$20.
