The Milk District dons the horns, furs and chains and summons one of the region’s largest gatherings of holiday mischief-makers for KrampusFest at the Plaza Live.

Inspired by Alpine folklore, Krampus is the horned, hoofed, chain-rattling counterpart to Saint Nick; he punishes the naughty with switches — and, yes, kidnapping — and rewards the virtuous, bringing gleeful chaos to the season.

Expect live bands (including infamous locals Bad Santa and the Angry Elves), local eats, festive drinks, costume contests, a Krampuslauf parade and more than 150 holiday vendors.

The festival is free and family-friendly earlier in the day, but after 6 p.m. it shifts to 18-and-up, for the naughty only. VIP packages are available if you want to get that much closer to the mayhem.

2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 7, The Milk District, 425 N. Bumby Ave., milkdistrict.org, free.
