Not a washout, but some plans may be impacted.
TAMPA, Fla. — A Weather Impact Alert is in place for Sunday afternoon and evening storms.
While the exact timeline still needs fine-tuning, it’s coming into better focus.
Timeline:
Sunday morning-early afternoon:Â
Sunday morning looks mostly dry outside of maybe an isolated shower floating in with our southerly wind. The early afternoon also looks mostly dry, good news for the start of the Bucs game, but storms could impact the back half of the game.Â

Sunday late afternoon into the evening:
Storms look most widespread after 5 p.m. and will continue into the evening.

Overnight into Monday morning:
Early Monday morning, a few lingering showers and storms are possible as the front sinks south of I-4, but we should be mostly dry for the rush hour commute.Â

Impact:
Some Sunday afternoon and evening plans could be impacted, but we will get some much-needed rain!
Rainfall totals will be anywhere between a quarter to over an inch across the area, with some locally heavy amounts possible. This is more rain than we have received in 3 months combined!Â
