Kayla Rae Reid had serious concerns about Ryan Lochte prior to divorcing the Olympian, multiple sources exclusively tell Us Weekly. “There were trust issues on Kayla’s end,” one insider shares, with a second source claiming, “Ryan betrayed Kayla’s trust in numerous ways.” Reid, 34, announced on June 4 that she had “made the hard decision” […]
The association filed a lien against Ryan and Kayla’s home in July, demanding $3,686 in unpaid fees. Because the lien was not handled, the association filed the lawsuit. Ryan moved out of the home following the divorce.
(The association pointed out that the home in question had another lien filed against it by the Internal Revenue Service. Per the lien, obtained by Us, Ryan and Kayla are accused of owing $99,696 in unpaid taxes. The breakdown is $48,182 for 2021 and $51,513 for 2022.)
As Us previously reported, Ryan and Kayla had yet to finalize their divorce.
Kayla filed her petition on March 26 after seven years of marriage, claiming the marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
In her filing, she demanded primary custody of their three minor children: Caiden, 8, Liv, 6, and Georgia, 2.

In September, Kayla accused Ryan of using drugs inside their home. She said she would find empty baggies of cocaine in various rooms. She even alleged that she once caught Ryan using nitrous oxide in front of one of their kids in the garage.
“[Ryan’s] recurring and repeated irresponsible behavior shows he is unfit to exercise shared parental responsibility, and it would [be] a detriment to the minor children to award the same,” Kayla’s lawyer claimed while accusing Ryan of failing recent drug tests.
Ryan, who announced he was 54 days sober on September 2, admitted to using drugs in the home but denied using around the children when contacted by Us.
He told Us, “As I acknowledged earlier this week, after my car accident in 2023, I fell into a cycle of depression that led to substance abuse.”

Ryan Lochte’s estranged wife, Kayla Lochte, demanded exclusive use of the marital home she owns with the Olympic swimmer amid their divorce battle, Us Weekly can exclusively report. According to court documents obtained by Us, Kayla, 33, asked the court to not allow Ryan, 40, to use the home in Terrace, Florida. “[Kayla] needs the […]
Ryan added, “I am not denying that I used drugs in my home, but I adamantly deny ever using drugs in front of or around my children, and I have never driven them while intoxicated.”
“We all make mistakes in life. We are not defined by those mistakes, but by how we learn from them and the work we put in to overcome them. I am extremely sorry for hurting or disappointing anyone along the way,” Ryan added. “My focus now is on my recovery, on being the best father I can be, and on moving forward in a way that keeps my kids safe, supported, and loved.”
As Us first reported, in separate docs, Kayla accused Ryan of bringing his “paramour” around their kids, who she said acted “inappropriately.”
“[Ryan] is undermining [Kayla] as the mother of their children, as on multiple occasions he has brought his paramour of only a couple months to the minor children’s school to have lunch,” Kayla’s lawyer alleged. “The paramour has been witnessed following [one of their kids] down the school hallway in an attempt to hug her, saying ‘come here, I need a hug,’ despite [the child’s] protests.”

Olympian Ryan Lochte and estranged wife Kayla Rae Reid’s $270K debt has come to light following their recent divorce announcement. Us Weekly obtained court documents indicating that the couple have an unpaid balance of $99,696.09 with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for the years 2021 and 2022. The Daily Mail was the first to report […]
“[Ryan] does nothing to eradicate his paramour’s inappropriate behavior,” the filing alleged.
Us spoke to Ryan and his new girlfriend, Molly, about Kayla’s claims in September.
Ryan said, “The claims in this filing are not only false, they’re misleading as well as past motions Kayla has filed. Molly has known my children for over two years, and my daughter is best friends with Molly’s daughter. To call her a ‘paramour’ or suggest that she’s some stranger suddenly inserted into their lives is completely inaccurate.”
He added, “I’ve been careful and deliberate in gradually having my kids around Molly because she is a safe and trusted presence. Any suggestion otherwise is simply an attempt to distort the truth and hurt me publicly.”

Molly added, “Something that brought Ryan and I together was the love our kids have for one another. I have known [Ryan and Kayla’s] kids for years.”
In regard to Kayla’s claims about her behavior at the kids’ school, Molly said she had lunch with Ryan and his kids, along with her daughter. She said she never had lunch with Ryan’s kids without him present.
“Regarding any claims of inappropriate behavior towards his children, I want to clarify that I have never forced his children to hug me or interact with me,” Molly said. “In fact, his daughter initiated a hug with me once and playfully tickled me before running away.”
