According to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, two teens from Florida are being charged with premeditated murder on Thursday after allegedly luring a 14-year-old girl into the woods and killing her.On Sunday, a 16-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy allegedly lured the girl into a wooded area, shot her multiple times, then doused her in gasoline and set her body on fire.Danika Jade Troy, 14, was reported missing by her mother after her electric scooter was found to be missing from the home on Tuesday.According to the report, a burned body was found near 3970 Kimberly Road. A black and red scooter and 9 mm ammunition casings were also found near the body. Based on the clothing and scooter description, the body was later identified as Danika’s, the report said. A witness told authorities the two teen boys planned Danika’s murder. The plan was to shoot her once, but the 16-year-old continued to shoot her multiple times before burning her body, according to the report. When asked why he did it, the 16-year-old reportedly told detectives that Danika had made hurtful comments about him.The 14-year-old requested a lawyer and was also arrested, according to the report. Both teen boys are currently being held in the Department of Juvenile Justice. This is an open and active investigation as deputies gather more evidence.
