KISSIMMEE, Fla. — One of Central Florida’s most anticipated wintertime attractions re-themes a 9-degree climate.
1. Artisans all the way from Harbin, China continue to feel the welcome received when creating and constructing this year’s ICE! attraction at Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee. It’s a story-driven, holiday showplace.
2. “When those artisans get to come here and experience our appreciation for them, they really are – they truly feel like rock stars,” said Niko Nickolaou, Gaylord Hotel’s senior director of special events and experiences.
3. ICE! is a frigid walk-through attraction. Artisans work day and night in those conditions, pulling off the unthinkable.
4. This year’s theme is based on the 1964 stop-motion animated classic, Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer. There are 10 scenes to bring the story to life. “We start essentially now for next year’s theme,” said spokeswoman Meghan Hash.
5. ICE! made its Gaylord Palms debut back in 2003 and is currently featured at six locations nationwide. It has a lengthy run here in town, open all the way through January 7, 2026.
