ORLANDO, Fla. – Change in the weather are expected this weekend, thanks to a cold front moving into Central Florida. A stalled frontal boundary across the peninsula is expected to increase rain chances starting today, with more showers rolling in as the cold front pushes through on Sunday. The forecast calls for scattered heavy rain, and you’ll likely notice more clouds than sun throughout the weekend.
Along with the rain, you can anticipate some gusty winds as the front advances. Winds will pick up through the day, so outdoor plans might need a second look. These conditions are typical ahead of a frontal boundary and could stick around as the rain moves through.
There’s also a dense fog advisory in effect for parts of Central Florida until 10 a.m.

The stalled front is expected to bring some showers to the region on Saturday, though the better chance for rain will arrive on Sunday.
Saturday’s highs
Rain chances on Saturday are around 30–40%, with showers moving in during the afternoon and highs in the 70s and lower 80s, though a few light, isolated showers are possible in the morning.
Saturday night
By Sunday morning, heavy rain will begin to spread into areas north and west of I-4, reaching the metro area in the afternoon. A few embedded thunderstorms are also possible.
Sunday’s rain
Showers may linger into Sunday night before drier, cooler air moves in next week. Higher rain totals could happen north and west of I-4 between 1-3″ with higher amounts possible.
