I know I can speak for most Americans in saying that it is so annoying that the sponsors of bowl games and arenas can name them after the product name. Why can’t we say the Rose Bowl sponsored by so-and-so, and go back to the Citrus Bowl sponsored by whomever the sponsor is at the moment? The names sound so ridiculous.
I am ticked off that the Orlando airport is going to have Hudson News, a staple in almost every airport in the United States, close. Great, more restaurant choices coming in. All I really want, though, is to be able to go in quickly and pick up a snack, drink and maybe a book. I don’t think I’ve ever not visited Hudson News before flying. Add new venues, but don’t throw out what you already have that’s good.
I’m ticked that the Volusia County libraries were closed Wednesday through Sunday during Thanksgiving weekend. Really? And banks were closed only on Thanksgiving.
The flip side
I want to send a big thanks to Dr. Chi, who is an oncologist in west Orlando. He was so kind and compassionate toward my friend, who was diagnosed with cancer, and it was a pleasure to have someone like him working with us. I give him bonus points for having a big puzzle out in the waiting room to give people something to do while they’re waiting to keep their minds off of their anxiety. I highly recommend that for all waiting rooms! Thank you, Dr. Chi.
