JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (WBRC) – The Jacksonville Police Department is investigating after a stabbing occurred at a Walmart.
According to police, officers responded to a 911 call around 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5. Officers say they learned a man had attempted to steal a computer monitor from the electronics department at the Walmart.

Police say a worker for the Salvation Army who was in the department at the time followed the suspect out of the store. During a struggle in the parking lot, the Salvation Army worker was stabbed with a sharp object and the suspect fled the scene.

The victim was treated by emergency services for non life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released Friday evening, according to police.
Police say the man was Black, however he wore a face covering. He also drove a silver vehicle.
