Average gasoline prices in Miami fell 10.5 cents per gallon over the past week, averaging $2.92 per gallon to start the week.

Despite the drop, prices on Key Biscayne remain significantly higher, holding steady at $4.49 a gallon.

According to GasBuddy’s survey of 1,690 stations across the Miami-Dade metro area, prices are 2.5 cents higher than a month ago, but 15.9 cents lower than a year ago.

GasBuddy identified the cheapest station in Miami at $2.48 on Sunday.

Nationally, the average price of gasoline dropped 5 cents this week to $2.90, down 17.6 cents from last month and 7.3 cents from a year ago.

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said, “With the national average falling further, we’re now at multi-year lows heading into Christmas. Barring any major disruptions, prices are likely to stay relatively low into the new year.”
