TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Valdosta police are investigating two shootings that both occurred in the parking lot outside of Fin and Feathers at the Valdosta Mall.

On Saturday, around 1:00 a.m., officers responded to the restaurant parking lot after receiving a call that someone had heard gunshots. While officers were looking for the source of the gunshots, a man with a gunshot wound was admitted to the local hospital.

The victim, a 21-year-old man, had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

According to police, the man believed he had been hit by a stray bullet and did not want to press charges.

On Sunday at around 1:00 a.m., police received several calls about a fight at the restaurant, which resulted in a gun being shot in the parking lot.

When officers arrived, they found evidence of a shooting and learned the victim had already gone to the hospital.

The victim, a 28-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and is in critical but stable condition, according to police.

VPD is actively investigating both cases. It is not immediately clear if the two shootings are connected.

Fin and Feathers released a statement on social media Monday night.

The restaurant said it “does not condone or tolerate any form of violence or disruptive behavior inside or around our establishment.”

“The recent altercation that occurred at our Valdosta location does not reflect our values, standards, or the environment we work hard to maintain,” the post continued. “The safety and comfort of our guests and staff remain our top priority.”

The post also said Fin and Feathers will now be enforcing the dress code with “zero exceptions.” White t-shirts, hoodies, flip-flops, sweat suits and athletic wear are all prohibited, according to the restaurant.

Additionally, Friday and Saturday hours will now end at 12:00 a.m.
