BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WKEF) — The two Middletown men charged in connection with the death of a Miami Valley woman back in August will go to trial at the beginning of the new year.

According to Butler County court records, James Rothenbusch, 52, and Ricky Sheppard, 47, will appear in court next on November 11 of this year, but their trial is scheduled for January 12, 2026.

The pair is charged with multiple felonies, including tampering with evidence and gross abuse of a corpse. Police said the two are connected to the death of Brittany Fuhr-Storms, 28; her body was found in a plastic bin. Police said she was pregnant and the fetus did not survive.
