A 25-year-old man was arrested Monday after a crash with a Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy’s car in Pompano Beach early Monday morning and fleeing the scene, BSO said.

Oscar Enrique Soliz Rodriguez and the deputy crashed shortly before 6 a.m. near Northwest 27th Avenue and West Atlantic Boulevard. Rodriguez then fled the scene, the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Monday afternoon.

Paramedics took the deputy, who is expected to recover, to a hospital for treatment.

The Sheriff’s Office did not identify the deputy or release details of the circumstances of the crash Monday.

Rodriguez had been found and arrested by Monday afternoon on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident involving injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Rodriguez had not been booked into the jail by late Monday afternoon.
