LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — Lincoln leaders will cut the ribbon this morning on Breeze Airways’ new nonstop service to Orlando, just hours before the inaugural flight heads into the skies this afternoon.
The twice-weekly route makes Orlando Breeze’s first destination from Lincoln. The airline first announced the service in July, marking Lincoln as its 77th market.
Airport representatives will join the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce for today’s event, and officials say a special guest is expected to help mark the occasion.
Breeze has since expanded service from Lincoln to include nonstop flights to Las Vegas and a one-stop option into Orange County, California.
You can watch the ribbon cutting live in the video player above. This story will be updated after the event concludes.
