FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — UPDATE:
At 12:04 p.m., FPPD said the roads reopened.

An ammonia leak prompted multiple road closures in Fort Pierce on Wednesday.
The Fort Pierce Police Department (FPPD) said a traffic advisory was issued following an ammonia leak that has prompted road closures at the intersection of Oleander Avenue and Farmers Market Road, as well as Farmers Market Road leading to U.S. 1, and the intersection of Bell Avenue at Oleander Avenue.
FPPD said emergency crews are on the scene working to contain the leak and ensure public safety.

Drivers are urged to avoid the affected areas and make alternate travel plans. Officials have not yet provided an estimated time for reopening the roads.
