A small aircraft crash-landed on Interstate 95 just before 6 p.m. Monday, according to Brevard County Fire Rescue.The plane was attempting to make an emergency landing on the southbound side of Interstate 95 near mile marker 201 in Cocoa when it hit a Toyota Camry.According to BCFR, there were two people aboard the aircraft, and there was one person in the vehicle.The driver of the vehicle, a 57-year-old woman, was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, BCFR said. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the pilot, a 27-year-old male, and the passenger, a 27-year-old male, are not injured.Lanes on I-95 southbound and northbound were blocked earlier, but have since been reopened, FHP said. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the pilot reported engine issues before landing on I-95.The National Transportation Safety Board opened an investigation into the incident.According to the NTSB, the plane departed from Merritt Island on an instructional flight before losing power in both engines, forcing the pilot to land on the highway.
