A former Flagler County paramedic was found guilty Wednesday of sexual battery on an unconscious patient.James Melady, 38, was arrested after he was accused of molesting a woman who was unconscious in the back of an ambulance.Melady was found not guilty of digital voyeurism. Investigators said the incident occurred in October 2021 while Melady was on duty, in uniform and transporting the victim to a hospital.He was charged with sexual battery and video voyeurism.It all started when detectives uncovered video evidence while investigating unrelated cases involving Melady.The video showed Melady setting up a recording device, adjusting the camera and molesting the victim.The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said the victim was clearly unconscious and did not know she had been attacked.Deputies said they believe there might be more victims.
