PORT ST. LUCIE – A Port St. Lucie woman was jailed on Sept. 5 on charges that she threatened to kill a cable company employee several times.

According to an arrest affidavit, Charmaine Fay Borger, 65, of the 1700 block of SW Ardmore Street, Port St. Lucie, approached the employee who was installing a concrete fiber-optic box on an easement and demanded that the employee give her a permit on Sept. 5 at about 9:50 a.m.

In a video, with faces of the victim blotted out, provided by Port St. Lucie police, the employee is shown explaining to police that he could not give her a physical copy but could show her the permit. However, the employee said Borger became angrier and started to threaten to kill him, according to the video.

In the arrest affidavit, several of the threats that Borger allegedly made against the employee include:

• “Don’t play with me, I’ll go get my axe and chop you.”

• “You better leave, I do have a gun. Ima go get it if you don’t leave.”

• “Boy, you’re tall, but don’t play with me. I’ll go get my gun if you don’t leave right now.”

• “If you don’t leave, you’re a dead man.”

• “You’re not going to leave? I’m telling you Ima go get my gun and shoot you.”

• “This is my property; if I was to put a bomb in here, I can.”

Police noted in the arrest affidavit that Borger was very belligerent towards officers when they were interviewing her.

In a body-cam video released by Port St. Lucie Police, Borger also can be seen telling officers, “no,” as they were arresting her and putting her in handcuffs.

She was charged with misdemeanors of simple assault – threatening to do violence and resisting an officer without violence. She was released on Sept. 9 on a $750 bond.
