TAMPA — Next Generation Ballet will present its production of “Nutcracker,” with performances scheduled from Dec. 19-23, in Morsani Hall at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, 1010 N. W.C. MacInnes Place, Tampa.

NGB’s “Nutcracker” takes audiences into a fantastical world of dazzling dancing sweets, sword-fighting rodents and timeless ballet music. The production features award-winning young dancers from NGB alongside principal guest star dancers from New York City Ballet, dancers Unity Phelan and Jovani Furlan.

From the moment the lights dim, audiences will be transported to a magical place filled with toy soldiers, a growing Christmas tree, giant mice and crystalline waltzing snowflakes.

Next Generation Ballet’s “Nutcracker” will be performed Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m., Sunday at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., and Monday and Tuesday at 2 p.m.
