TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Progress is being made in the plans to bring mega gas station Buc-ees to Leon County, according to a Facebook post from Leon County Commissioner Rick Minor.
Minor shared that Buc-ees is close to buying more than 73 acres of property off of I-10 at Exit 196. He said that although the project is in its early stages, it’s progressing without any major issues.
“Parcel acquisition is nearly complete, and the anticipated date for the groundbreaking is Q1 2026,″ Minor said.

Once the land acquisition is completed, Buc-ees can submit detailed development plans, per the commissioner. Then, the county is expected to hold public hearings where locals can provide feedback.
“I’m excited about the new jobs and economic activity this Buc-ee’s location will bring to an important part of District 3, and I’ll be sure to post updates as we learn more,” Minor said.
The county commissioner said Buc-ees is scheduled to break ground sometime in the first quarter of next year.
