Tampa Bay Lightning defenceman Victor Hedman will have a procedure on his injured elbow done on Monday but he is expected to return in early February in time for the Olympics.
Hedman was one of the first six players named to Team Sweden for the Olympics in Milan.

Hedman suffered the injury in Tuesday’s 6-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens. He played just 6:14 before leaving the game and missed Thursday’s contest against the New Jersey Devils.
The 34-year-old has 12 assists in 18 games this season while averaging 21:05 of ice time. He previously missed nearly a month with an undisclosed injury earlier in the season.
The Ornskoldsvik, Sweden native has represented his country on a number of occasions, including at the U18s, World Juniors and World Championships, where he won gold in 2017.
