Stuart police investigate early morning shooting, suspect in custody

STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — The Stuart Police Department is investigating a shooting in the 900 block of SE Tarpon Avenue that occurred around 5 a.m. Sunday.

According to officers, the incident was isolated, the suspect was taken into custody, and the victim is expected to survive.

SE Tarpon Avenue is reportedly closed between Lake Street and Church Street while police investigate. Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes.
