Heavy traffic and large numbers of pedestrians are expected in and around Downtown Tampa on Saturday, October 18th, due to several major events, rallies, and shows taking place throughout the day. Drivers attending any of these events should plan extra travel time and expect parking options to fill up quickly.
 

Major events include (but are not limited to):

⦁ Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Benchmark International Arena / Bayshore – 9 AM
⦁ Tampa Girls Who Walk Market – Water Works Park – 10 AM
⦁ Tampa Home Show – Tampa Convention Center – 10 AM
⦁ Tampa Pig Jig – Julian B. Lane Park – 1 PM
⦁ Political Rally – Downtown Tampa – 4–7 PM
⦁ Straz Center Shows – 2 PM, 7:30 PM, 8 PM
⦁ Tux & Tails Gala – Tampa Convention Center – 5 PM
⦁ Tampa Theatre Show – 8 PM

Attendees are encouraged to use alternative transportation options whenever possible, including the free TECO Line Streetcar, DASH service, HART buses, rentable scooters, bicycles, etc.
Drivers are asked to use extra caution in and around event zones and be alert for large numbers of pedestrians.
