TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) – Florida gas prices continue to drop as millions of Americans finalize their year-end holiday travel plans, AAA reports.

Of the 7.5 million Floridians that AAA expects to take a trip this holiday, 6.7 million are forecast to drive.

“Florida gas prices have declined for three consecutive weeks,” Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA – The Auto Club Group, said in a news release.

“If current trends continue, holiday travelers will find the lowest gas prices in years.”

Florida’s average gas price has declined 31 cents in the past 23 days. Sunday’s average price of $2.81 per gallon is 11 cents less than a week ago and the lowest daily average price since May 2021.
