Price: $12.495 million
In a premier area of Fort Lauderdale, a tropical glass palace with 122 feet of frontage on the yacht-friendly New River has hit the market for $12.495 million.
“I absolutely love this house,” said listing agent Chad Carroll, of the Chad Carroll Group at Compass. “It’s very different for Fort Lauderdale. It’s got a tropical feel to it. You’ve got curved glass walls combined with a tropically landscaped courtyard.”
“Everything is built to immerse you in the outdoor environment through the windows,” he said.

New River is the pathway for all of the yachts coming into the city, Carroll said. “You see megayachts going through all day, every day.”
One of the glass-clad home’s best features is the private dock with a 38-foot cutout, allowing the homeowner space to dock a vessel off of the river itself, he said.
Further, the home is on a large lot, he said. In Fort Lauderdale, “a typical lot is 0.3 acres—this one is 0.52 acres.”
The two-story home on North Rio Vista Boulevard was custom built for the sellers in 2014, Carroll said.
It’s “definitely unique for the Fort Lauderdale marketplace,” he said. “It’s more like something you’d see in Miami. It’s a very, very cool house—we’ve had tons of action on it.”
Indeed, Carroll put the unusual home into contract shortly after speaking with Mansion Global and a sale is now pending.
The front door, which is three times the height of a normal door, opens to a hallway that leads to an office, he said. The kitchen, living and dining rooms are to the left, and the four bedrooms are upstairs.
The home has particularly good outdoor spaces, including a pool that’s right by the waterfront, a landscaped courtyard and a large lawn area, Carroll said. “It has a spectacular seating area that’s covered.”
Stats
The 6,823-square-foot home has four bedrooms, four full bathrooms and one partial bathroom. It sits on a 0.52-acre lot.

Neighborhood Notes
The home is in the Rio Vista neighborhood, “one of the most premier locations to live in the Fort Lauderdale area,” Carroll said. “It has a very residential feel, with gorgeous trees.”
This street is directly on the river, with all of the yachts going back and forth, he said. It’s about seven minutes to the beach.

The home has easy access to open water, he said. It’s five minutes to the Intracoastal Waterway and another five to seven minutes to the Atlantic Ocean.
The home is “just moments from Las Olas Boulevard and Lauderdale Yacht Club,” according to the listing.
