The Riverwalk Trick or Treat in Tampa is a Free ,annual event for families and their costumed children and pets . The ninth annual celebration will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m.. Due to construction, the event has a new route for 2025.New Location and Route: The trick-or-treating trail will run along the Riverwalk from Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park to the Tampa Convention Center. This change is a shift from previous years, which included Water Works Park and Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.Trick-or-Treating: More than 50 local organizations and businesses will hand out candy and other goodies at treat stations along the path.Costume Contest: Guests can compete for the “Best Halloween Costume.” Judging is split into different age groups for kids, and there is also a contest for pets.Live Entertainment: The event will feature DJs, food trucks, a Halloween-themed market, and multiple flash mob performances of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”.”Thriller” Flash Mob: Acclaimed choreographer Myles Thoroughgood will again lead the “Thriller” flash mob. The flash mobs are scheduled to take place at Cotanchobee Park at 6:15 p.m. and at the Sail Pavilion at 6:30 p.m..Free Movie: Following the conclusion of the trick-or-treating at 7 p.m., a free Halloween movie—Monsters, Inc.—will be shown in Cotanchobee Park.Accessibility: The event is sponsored by Friends of the Riverwalk. No pre-registration is needed to attend.
