ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Three men are in custody after St. Pete police say they kept another man barricaded in an apartment at gunpoint.
Officers say witnesses saw the three suspects holding a man at gunpoint before two of them forced him inside his apartment in the area of 4th Avenue North and 13th Street North. The third suspect stayed outside as a look-out, police say.
All eastbound lanes of I-375 going into downtown St. Pete were initially closed for the investigation, but reopened a short time after.
Initially, one suspect and the man held at gunpoint reportedly came out sometime after police arrived on scene.
Detectives say the second suspect then surrendered just after 2 p.m., and the scene was cleared.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing. SPPD says it will release details on the suspects’ names and charges at a later time.
