Shipley Do-Nuts will open its first Clearwater shop on Dec. 15 at 4004 Ulmerton Road. More than 40 kinds of donuts and kolaches arrive in Tampa Bay. The shop sits west of Carillon Business Park, across from St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport.
Hours run from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day. A high-speed drive-thru window serves customers who want quick service. People can pick from a menu with the brand’s original glazed donut recipe, kolaches stuffed with meat and cheese, and La Colombe coffee.
“We have wanted to introduce Shipley to Clearwater for a long time, and we can’t wait to share the brand’s genuine hospitality and mouthwatering donuts with the community,” said Andrew Povec, vice president of operations for Virentes Hospitality and lifetime local resident of St. Pete/Clearwater area, according to RestaurantNews.com. “This location is destined to be a convenient, one-stop shop for early-morning commuters and weekend treat seekers alike, where guests can count on a warm, fresh donut, great coffee, and fast service every time.”
The Clearwater restaurant marks the third Florida spot for the chain. Virentes Hospitality runs the shop under a multi-unit development partnership. More locations will pop up across Tampa soon.
The company started in 1936 in Houston. It’s now the nation’s biggest brand making handmade fresh donuts and kolaches each day. The chain runs more than 385 company-owned and franchised restaurants across 13 states.
Entrepreneur magazine gave the franchise the No. 121 ranking on its Franchise 500 2025 list. It took the No. 1 spot in its category. The brand also landed at No. 147 on the Technomic 2025 Top 500.
Povec said he’s thrilled to have the donuts closer to home. This opening brings the Texas-based chain to Pinellas County for the first time.
People can sign up for the rewards program at ShipleyDonuts.com. Members get exclusive offers once the shop opens. The program gives away free donuts, cuts prices on coffee, and offers exclusive merchandise.
