Locals wore their quinceañera best for Vizcaya’s “Everyone’s Quince.”

Tulle, beadwork, tiaras, and many pops of color dotted Vizcaya’s waterfront this week as “Everyone’s Quince” took over the Coconut Grove museum and former estate Thursday night. The event was a nod to Vizcaya’s history as Miami’s premier venue for quinceañera photoshoots, and guests were invited to dress for the occasion.
Some sported bright-pink, puff-pastry dresses. Others strayed from the traditional quince look, choosing other colors or even dressing like guests at someone else’s party. To complete guests’ looks, Vizcaya provided activity stations where attendees could craft tiaras and crowns. Guests posed for bayside photos — including inside the gazebo you’ve seen in all of your friends’ blunder years photoshoots.
Guests also enjoyed dominoes, activations by O, Miami, and — as at any other quince — birthday cake. The evening culminated with a dance party courtesy of Salsa Z, which hosts salsa classes around town, primarily for Gen Z participants.
If you missed the party, you might get another chance to wear your quince best soon. While no plans are yet confirmed, Elgin Grey, Vizcaya’s Director of Community Partnerships, Programs, and Interpretation, recently told New Times the museum is interested in making “Everyone’s Quince” an annual event. While you wait, take a look at the over-the-top getups we saw this year.
