Omni Hotels & Resorts has expanded its Florida footprint with the opening of the Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel, a newly built, 29-story property now accepting reservations and celebrating its debut with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 18.
Directly connected to the Broward County Convention Center, the hotel adds to Fort Lauderdale’s appeal as a hub for cruise traffic and leisure travel.
New Addition to Fort Lauderdale’s Hospitality Scene
The 801-room hotel—including 82 suites—was designed to serve a diverse mix of cruise guests sailing from nearby Port Everglades and vacationers seeking a full-service resort experience close to the city’s waterfront and airport.
Stacy Ritter, President and CEO of Visit Lauderdale, called the opening “an exciting chapter” for the destination, noting that the hotel enhances the area’s hospitality infrastructure while reinforcing Fort Lauderdale’s position as a top-tier travel and meetings destination.

The Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel features six dining venues, from Fair Ketch, a sports bar and entertainment concept with a Topgolf Swing Suite, to Reef 76 Kitchen & Bar, showcasing seafood-driven menus, and Ibis Sky Lounge, an indoor/outdoor rooftop bar offering sweeping views of the city and coastline. Additional amenities include a resort-style pool deck and fitness center.
Wellness is also a key focus with the debut of Mokara Spa, Omni’s signature spa brand. The spa offers a full menu of services ranging from massages and facials to Hammam-inspired steam rituals.
Strategically located, the hotel sits just minutes from Port Everglades Cruise Terminal and less than five minutes from Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport.
During the ribbon-cutting ceremony—which will draw an impressive guest list of local officials, community leaders and industry professionals—a distinctive moment will highlight the hotel’s strong ties to the maritime community. The United States Coast Guard will perform a ceremonial “Ringing of the Bell,” a time-honored tradition that pays tribute to Broward County’s nautical heritage and features the Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel’s connection to the local culture and economy.
