Miami Dade College (MDC) is partnering with Miami-Dade County Clerk of the Court and Comptroller to create paid internships for MDC students, providing real-world experience in the area of government administration.
The internship program plans to match students with projects that align with their academic pursuits and career goals while contributing to essential functions. Once the internship is completed, they will have the opportunity to apply for full-time employment with the county.
The Clerk of the Court and Comptroller’s Office manages the largest and highest volume of court filings and official records in Florida and the fourth-largest judicial circuit in America. The Clerk of the Court and Comptroller is custodian of local public records, including courts, home and property, county commission, marriage licenses and the value adjustment board.
MDC offers students a variety of internships, including opportunities at FIFA, NASA, Bloomberg LP, Carnival Corp., and PortMiami. Students can apply for and learn more about internships, jobs and workshops and receive free resume and interview preparation through MDC WORKS Career Studio, a resource for degree-seeking students currently enrolled at the college.
“At Miami Dade College, we are committed to transforming lives by providing opportunities that ensure our students are career-ready,” said Madeline Pumariega, the college’s president. “This partnership exemplifies our dedication to creating pathways that bridge academic learning with practical, real-world experience, facilitating a seamless transition into our community’s thriving workforce.”
