TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Thousands of “No Kings Day” protests are planned across the nation this weekend to denounce recent policies enacted by President Donald Trump’s administration, according to organizers.
The “No Kings” theme was created by the 50501 Movement, a national movement against what they call the authoritarian actions of the Trump administration. The name 50501 stands for 50 states, 50 protests, one movement.
Over 2,700 No Kings demonstrations are scheduled across all 50 states on Saturday, Oct. 18, including some in the Big Bend and South Georgia.
Protests will take place in Tallahassee, Valdosta, Live Oak, Perry, Sopchoppy, Apalachicola, per the website.
The most recent No Kings rallies happened in June, drawing hundreds of protesters and counter-protesters to the Old Capitol in Tallahassee.
Another demonstration protest happened months earlier on President’s Day — nearly a month after Trump was sworn in for a second term.
