A 55-year-old Kissimmee woman is dead after an early morning crash on Thursday.

At 12:22 a.m., Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to a crash at Poinciana Blvd. and Woodmont Blvd., according to a press release from FHP.

Three women traveling in a 2024 Kia Forte were stopped and facing east on Woodmond Blvd.

A woman traveling in a 2011 Honda Accord was traveling southbound on Poinciana Blvd., approaching Woodmont Blvd. from the inside lane.

The driver in the Kia Forte failed to yield from the stop sign and drove into the direct path of the Honda Accord, resulting in the Accord crashing into the driver’s side of the Forte.

First responders transported the Kia Forte driver and front passenger to the Osceola Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

A third passenger in the rear seat died at the scene.

The Honda Accord driver suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
