TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – One of the capital city’s highly-anticipated holiday events has been rescheduled due to weather concerns, according to the City of Tallahassee.
Elf Night, initially scheduled for Thursday night, will now take place Monday, Dec. 22, city officials wrote in a press release Thursday.
Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elves will be present at Elf Night. Those who want to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus have to check in on the front lawn, where they’ll be assigned a ticket number on a first-come, first-served basis.
Hot cocoa and cookies will also be provided for attendees to enjoy, according to the city.

Additionally, the festive night is also expected to bring traffic delays, the city said.
“For safety reasons,” officials said vehicles will not be allowed to travel through Dorothy B. Oven Park during the event Monday.
Drivers who typically use Thomasville Road and do not plan to attend Elf Night are encouraged to seek an alternate route.
However, free public parking will be available at Thomasville Road Baptist Church, located at 3131 Thomasville Road, per the city.
For those interested in attending, Elf Night will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Dorothy B. Oven Park, located at 3205 Thomasville Road.
