It’s already been a busy Thursday for Florida State as they figure out their coaching staff for 2026 and beyond. After it was announced that Blue Adams will be the program’s next cornerbacks coach, FSU will promote Austin Tucker to be their next quarterbacks coach per Matt LaSerre of Warchant.
Tucker will takeover for Tony Tokarz who left the program to be the new offensive coordinator at Buffalo last week. He’s been with head coach Mike Norvell during his entire tenure with Florida State. For five seasons, Tucker was a senior analyst before being promoted to assistant wide receivers coach in 2025.
Before he came to Tallahassee, Tucker was a wide receivers coach at North Alabama. Tucker also spent time on the coaching staff at Memphis where he worked with Norvell back in 2017.
Tucker has familiarity with Seminoles’ offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn as well. He was a graduate assistant at Auburn when Malzahn was the head coach there.
Quarterback development is something that needs improvement at FSU. Now, we’ll see if Tucker can aid in that aspect.
