A Florida gym ‘Karen’ has been arrested after she was caught on camera punching a staff member in the face.
Kiara Bryant, 35, has been charged with misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct for the December 12 altercation.
Viral video appears to show a woman, identified by police as Bryant, allegedly punching an unidentified Miami Planet Fitness employee in the face after he asked her to be quiet.
Miami police were first called to the gym over a woman ‘running without clothing at the Planet Fitness,’ according to an arrest report obtained by the Daily Mail.
Upon arrival, the responding officer found Bryant ‘causing a disturbance in the parking lot of the establishment, yelling profanities and yelling at all bystanders.’
The Planet Fitness employee told police that Bryant had been inside the gym ‘for a while, causing a disturbance in the locker room, yelling and being disorderly.’
When Bryant left the locker room, the worker said he told Bryant she could not be yelling inside Planet Fitness and to lower her voice or leave, or he would call the cops.
Bryant then became irate and came up to the worker’s face, causing him to push her back and away from him twice with both hands in self-defense, according to the report.

When the worker asked her to be quiet, Bryant allegedly became irate and climbed over the front desk counter and taunted him several times before she began hitting
She then allegedly became constantly aggressive towards the worker, balling her fists.
Moments later, she was captured on video jumping over the counter into an employee-only restricted space while yelling profanities and chasing him.
Bryant allegedly did this twice until the third time, where she ‘repeatedly’ punched the worker in the nose with a closed fist.
She exited the building and tried to flee in her car, but was confronted by bystanders, which caused her to get out of the vehicle and attempt to ‘fight everyone,’ according to the report.
Police said Bryant even told an officer that she ‘came up to the victim, got in his face and flinched at him in an aggressive manner because he told her she couldn’t be disorderly inside the gym.’
Bryant was subsequently arrested without incident and released from jail on a $150 bond.
The victim’s lawyer, Alecsander Kohn, told CBS News Miami that they do not feel the misdemeanor charges against Bryant are strong enough.
‘She took things too far, brutally battered our client, and ultimately, left him in the hospital with a broken nose and severe emotional distress,’ Kohn said.

‘This would be a case of felony battery. Hopefully, through some strong advocacy, there will be a modification of the charges to reflect the severity of the injuries he sustained.’Â
Planet Fitness released a statement saying they cooperated with law enforcement and are committed to providing a safe environment.
‘The safety of our employees and members is our top priority, and we have zero tolerance for violence of any kind in our clubs,’ the statement said.
‘The franchise group worked closely with local police and has cancelled the member in question.’Â
