Demonstration against Florida’s latest execution

WMNF’s Leah Burdick reports from Largo on how Floridians for Alternatives to Death Penalty is upset with executions such as Frank Walls’.

Public response was mostly against the ordinance banning access to certain bicyclist groups on some Tampa trails and walkways. WMNF’s Chris Young reports.

Justice Charles Canady is leaving the bench to join the University of Florida, giving Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has appointed five of the seven current justices, an opportunity to place another jurist on the state’s highest court based on the commission’s recommendations.

A new bill in Florida would set guidelines for local government rules involving drinking straws

Many companies have replaced plastic straws with paper or plant-based straws due to environmental concerns and a widely cited 2023 study by the University of Antwerp which found PFAS, also known as “forever chemicals,” in many plastic straws.
