TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Some Leon County families are back together for the holidays after the NWF Health’s annual “Home for the Holidays” adoption and reunification event on Friday.
The event featured two family reunifications, as well as the finalization of adoptions for eleven families and 23 children. It was held in Courtroom 2F in the Leon County Courthouse with Judge Barbara Hobbs of the Second Judicial Court presiding.
Darla Marsters, one of the parents adopting on Friday, said she was grateful.

“They aren’t lucky to meet us. We were lucky to find them. We had all been looking for each other for who knows how long. And then we all found each other at the right time.”
The two family reunifications were featured for the first time in the annual event.
Representatives from Safe Families for Children of North Florida, Camelot Community Care, Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, and Florida’s Early Childhood Courts also participated.
Families were able to take a family photo, pick out some toys and generally celebrate what’s left to come this holiday season.
