FORT MYERS – A 12-year-old boy is facing serious charges after being accused of armed robbery in Fort Myers.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says the boy has been using Schandler Hall Community Park as a place to rob other kids.

Witnesses say the boy has a history of stealing bikes and threatening bystanders to keep quiet. Many kids were too scared to speak on camera.

Victims reported incidents as early as last week, with the boy allegedly robbing them at knifepoint at or near the park.

According to the arrest report, he attempted to rob two kids. One managed to escape, but the other handed over a backpack, AirPods, designer cologne, a school computer, clothes and cash.

The boy is charged with two counts of robbery with a weapon. He was arrested on Friday morning and is currently being held on an immigration hold.
