FORT PIERCE – During a check of 15 possible offenders across multiple locations in St. Lucie County on Oct. 14 and 15, three arrests were made on drug charges, possession of weapons and ammunition and grand theft, according to St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The Sheriff’s Office’s Special Investigations Division, partnered with Fort Pierce Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit, assisted the state Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Division with a coordinated probation compliance operation.
During one of the checks in the 800 block of N. 19th Street, probation officers discovered two handguns and suspected crack cocaine inside the residence. Sheriff’s Office detectives obtained a search warrant and recovered a stolen Canik 9mm handgun (confirmed stolen out by Fort Pierce Police), a Ruger LCP .380, and approximately 10 grams of crack cocaine, according to Sheriff’s Office reports.
Eddie Lavern Daniels, 31, of Fort Pierce, was arrested and charged with:
• Grand theft firearm
• Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
• Possession of ammunition by a convicted felon
• Possession of cocaine
• Violation of probation
He is in the St. Lucie County Jail on $130,000 bond as of Oct. 16.
Another team responded to the 700 block of Emil Avenue, where probation officers located a plastic bag containing multi-colored pills and a gray, rocklike substance suspected to be narcotics. SID detectives identified the substance as MDMA (Molly) and secured a search warrant.
The subsequent search of the Emil Avenue residence resulted in the seizure of:
• 8.5 ounces of cocaine
• 69 grams of MDMA (Molly)
• Two Oxycodone pills
• 3.5 pounds of marijuana
• Drug manufacturing equipment including beakers and glassware with cocaine residue
• One AK-47 Drako firearm
• One Taurus TCP .380 handgun
• Cash in the amounty of $11,867
Antonio Hernandez, 43, of Fort Pierce, was arrested and charged with:
• Trafficking in Phenethylamines (MDMA)
• Possession of cocaine
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
• Violation of probation
He is being held at the St. Lucie County Jail on $160,000 bond as of Oct. 16.
Maria Noemi Thompson, 42, of Fort Pierce, was also arrested at the residence for:
• Possession of cocaine
She is being held in the St. Lucie County Jail on $2,500 bond as of Oct. 16.
“This operation underscores our commitment, alongside our local and state partners, to aggressively monitor individuals on probation and parole,” Sheriff Richard Del Toro said in a Facebook posting. “Our mission is clear: remove dangerous drugs, illegal guns, and repeat offenders from our neighborhoods, and make St. Lucie County the safest county in Florida.”
