Norland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jahquori Lombrage out in front who went 8-for-19 en route to 22 points. Zachary Joseph was another key player, putting up 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Despite the defeat, Hialeah Educational Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Christian Lewis dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards. Lewis is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he’s now pulled down nine or more in each of the last four games he’s played. Another player making a difference was Dennis Pierre Jr, who posted 20 points.
The win snapped Norland’s losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-4 record. As for Hialeah Educational Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That’s put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Norland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-37 loss against Stranahan on the 17th. As for Hialeah Educational Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Saint Andrew’s at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Biggie will need to watch out since the Scots have now posted at least 55 points every time they’ve taken the court this season.
