TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee crosstown rivalry is bringing in the holiday spirit by collecting toys for the charity organization Toys for Tots.
Toys for Tots is a program that collects new, unwrapped toys to distribute to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas, according to their website.
The annual soccer event is a rivalry between Leon High School and Lincoln High School. Called the Red and Green Games, the event is a way to play for something bigger than the score. This year, they collected 313 donated toys.

To get into the venue, fans could bring a new toy to donate and earn a ticket to the games. Organizers said the school with the most donations earns bragging rights until next year.
The tradition has gone on for nearly a decade.
