A stretch of Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade was completely shut down for a couple hours on Sunday after power lines fell onto the roadway, officials said.

Florida Highway Patrol officials said the downed power lines fell onto the roadway near Southwest 8th Street.

Northbound I-95 was closed from U.S. 1 to Southwest 8th Street., while southbound I-95 was closed from Southwest 8th Street to U.S. 1.

The roadway was closed for about two hours while crews worked to resolve the issue, Florida Power & Light officials said.

About 60 customers were left without power as a result.

FPL officials said the cause of the issue was being investigated.
