Since meeting one other at USFSP in 2017, Speak Easy (two words) has become an integral part of the local music scene in St. Petersburg. The boys have performed all over Florida, notably at Gasparilla Music Festival, Clearwater Jazz fest at the Capitol Theatre, the Floridian Social Club, the Attic at Rock Brothers, the St. Pete Pier; and have opened for the Plain White Tees at Chapel Chop in Wesley Chapel.
Speak Easy has released several collections of original music including their debut album “To Make a Man” (2024.) The band’s performance of their original song “Ain’t No Need to Wonder” was also chosen as the music and running visual for NPR Tiny Desk’s 2022 contest compilation from hundreds of entries.
With effusive lyrics, danceable energy, tasteful electric guitar solos, tight harmonies, and groove-driven rhythm, this 4-piece band delivers an undeniably positive vibe to any room. Fueled by sincere passion for making people move and strong desire to entertain, it is hard to find something not to like about these guys who speak nice and easy in person, too. With singer/keyboardist K. Sahagian, singer/bassist Brendon Porter, and drummer Jack Clements, this group delivers the right mix of classic style, well-developed musicianship, and a sunny disposition that is winning over fun-loving fans of all ages.
