Eight Denver Broncos players did not play in the team’s 34-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Denver linebacker Justin Strnad (foot), quarterback Sam Ehlinger, running back Cody Schrader, cornerback Reese Taylor, offensive tackle Geron Christian, defensive end Jordan Jackson and defensive lineman Sai’vion Jones were inactive. Ehlinger was elevated from the practice squad to get a game check, but he was a healthy scratch.

Jarrett Stidham, the team’s No. 2 quarterback, also did not play as QB1 Bo Nix took all the snaps on offense.

The fact that Denver opted not to place Strnad on injured reserve seems to suggest there’s hope he might be sidelined for fewer than four weeks. Up next is a Christmas Day showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday.
