As Christmas week begins, Miami drivers are feeling a bit of holiday pain at the pump, with the average price of gasoline rising 7.2 cents per gallon over the last week.
The average price of a gallon of gas in the Magic City this Monday is $2.88 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 1,690 stations in Miami. While prices increased over the past week, gas remains 25 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and 10.3 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Miami was priced at $2.29 per gallon on Sunday, while Key Biscayne ranked among the most expensive areas in the county at $4.49 per gallon, a difference of $2.20 per gallon.
Nationally, the average price of gasoline fell 5.7 cents per gallon over the last week, averaging $2.79 as Christmas week begins.
“For a fourth straight week, the national average price of gasoline has declined, as conditions remain ripe for some of the lowest seasonal gas prices in five years,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
