CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred early Dec. 21 on Collingswood Boulevard.
Deputies said a fight between two men started outside an event on the 480 block of Collingswood Boulevard. During the incident, a firearm was discharged, hitting one person.

The injured person was taken to a hospital, treated for non-life-threatening injuries and later released.
The forensic unit responded and is working with investigators to collect evidence.
“Based on information currently available, this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no known threat to the public,” the department said in a statement.
